Subject area
The position focuses on technology with a specialisation in building science. This includes all construction design and installation techniques for sustainable construction linked to agricultural buildings as well as digitization and sensor technology. Examples of buildings are stables, warehouses, machine halls and greenhouses. Agriculture is here to be seen in its broad sense and includes production of animals as well as agricultural and horticultural crops. The activity is mainly within building science, but the professor should also be able to support the field technology for plant production. Building science covers the building as a whole, including construction, the adaptation to the production system and the surrounding area, the building as such, and technology and the environment inside and around the building.

Duties
The lecturer will conduct research and teach on all levels and also take part in the development of the subject. The work includes supervision of bachelors, masters and postgraduate students in the field of technology. The focus of the position is building science for agricultural buildings. The lecturer is expected to contribute to the development of a long-term productive research environment focusing on sustainable production systems. The lecturer is also expected to contribute in collaboration with national and international actors and actively participate in the field of relevant policy processes.

Qualifications 

• Qualifying to be employed as a lecturer is the one who has shown both scientific and educational skills.
• The candidate must have scientific competence in the subject area of ??the employment and should have a PhD in technology or equivalent.
• The candidate must have education in university pedagogics or equivalent knowledge equivalent to at least 10 weeks full-time studies.

Assessment criteria
Assessment for the appointment will be based on the degree to which the candidate possesses the skills to qualify for the position. Emphasis will be on documented pedagogic skills and great interest in educational development as well as the ability to integrate pedagogy and science. It is desirable that the applicant has competence as Docent (Associate Professor). An assessment of scientific skills will take into account conducted and ongoing research, as well as the ability to independently initiate and conduct innovative research. Candidates are expected to have obtained external research grants in a relevant area. The examination of the teaching proficiency is given the same attention as the examination of the scientific skills. The position requires good communication skills and well-developed competence in English. The candidate should be able to work in a Scandinavian language no later than 2 years after the appointment.
